At Geelong Orthodontics we make everything clear from the start so that there will be no unexpected costs. The fees for your treatment will depend on your individual needs, the complexity of your problem as well as the type of braces that you choose. For this reason a consultation is necessary to provide the orthodontist with the necessary information to make a diagnosis and an estimation of the treatment cost.
What to expect from your first visit
The initial appointment allows you to meet with Dr. Vanessa Hawkins to discuss any particular concerns that you or your dentist may have about your teeth or your child’s teeth as well as your expectations and goals that you would like to achieve.
A thorough examination will be conducted of your facial structure, taking into consideration your bite and tooth alignment. Your medical and dental history will also be assessed after which there will be a discussion about the observations that were made and the need for treatment. Good communication is at the heart of our approach and from the earliest stage you will be fully informed of what to expect and how to proceed. Bulked billed to medicare. Bring in your medicare card along to your first appointment.

Reducing your personal cost
If your private health insurance plan includes orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal cost. We will provide you with the appropriate item numbers for your treatment, but you should contact your insurer directly as we are independent of insurers.
